No, cat snoring is extremely atypical. I would bring your cat to the doctor ASAP. It may have something in its throat clogging its breathing.

Perhaps it was fair, but people did make an effort to answer the question adequately, and where I come form, effort should be rewarded.

I actually found an article after running an extensive google search on persian cats and snoring that says persians can snore because they have flat faces. It then listed all sorts of symptoms that are cause for worry. http://www.accessmylibrary.com/coms2/summary_0286-34333966_ITM
It seems she's fine. So I closed the question because I found an answer. I didn't choose a best answer because no one used any sources.
But thanks anyway.

My parents have 4 cats and even growing up, I've always been around cats. I've never heard them snore, and with the exception of 1, all the cats were short hair domestic. The long haired cat never snored, but liked people food.

I'd agree with jabba, I'd call a vet and let them know what you're hearing. It is possible that the cat has a bit of an upper respiratory issue, such as a virus, and you're actually hearing a bit of labored breathing that sounds similar to snoring.

It sounds like strange and funny to me...we live with our cat but she only purrs sometimes. Maybe a vet is good way to check her up.

I wouldn't get too worked up. My cats have snored occasionally in the past. This can happen from many things. They could simply be extra tired. I know it sounds silly but after a really hard day of tearing up my house my cats have snored a bit. Another thing is a cold.

This odd weather we have been having lately has messed up everybody's sinuses in my house. Everybody has a little bit of a head cold. Animals are no different.

I would suggest watching her for a bit if she keeps it up take here to your vet if not chock it up to a busy day or cold.

Well she seems fine. The snoring sounds like extra loud purring. But it only started recently. Maybe a couple of months ago. She's 10 years old. But is always running around and playing.

I'm glad you found what you were looking for. I've had both dogs and cats that have some shortness or reshaping with the nose, and I do notice louder and more frequent snore sounds with them.
Tell your Persian I said "hello".

Wow! I feel bad saying my kitty was loud after seeing that video.
That cat actually sounds like it has a stuffy nose.
