Are there any "Animal Crossing"-like communication-based games for the iPhone?

I'm already aware of "Distant Shores," though that app is more communication-only, not game. I'm interested in a social game where you communicate with other people playing the game, like in Animal Crossing.

Any suggestions?

I'm not sure if it's been released yet, but "Astro Ranch" looks like it might be similar.

Alternatively, "Virtual Villagers" is available now, and could be comparable.

Virtual Villagers looks like fun, but is missing the whole "communication with other people" aspect that was what I was specifically looking for.

Astro Ranch looks like more the thing, but still apparently not out yet.
