Fallout 3.
It met the expectations of old school fans and won the affection of newcomers to the series...for a reason. It's a well-rounded game that leaves little to be desired. Besides the great graphics, the game has a satisfying storyline, lots of side quests and areas to explore, the combat is absorbing and doesn't get monotonous too quickly. F3 offers something for FPS fans, as well as provides the stat management and leveling of RPGs. It was surprisingly faithful to the original Fallout games, not only in maintaining the overall atmosphere, mood and sense of humor of the Fallout world, but also in the VATS system, perks, etc. Add to that a huge replayability factor and...there you go. :P
