Basically you have your normal keyboard insert and then you have your gaming insert which has a totally customized layout to the type of game you are looking to play. Pretty handy.

Opps I for got to suggest leaving off the wrist rest. That reduces the footprint of the keyboard.
If not mabey the G11 would be better

Unless you have over $1000 dollars to spend on a keyboard which in that case by all means buy a art lebadev keyboard.

If I were to purchase a keyboard again I would definitely buy my G11 right back. It is a breeze to type on and although it may be bigger than a regular keyboard it is only longer to the left to fit your very useful macro keys on. I would highly recommend that a gamer or someone in your position purchase the G11 for gaming as well as everyday use.
I use my G11 for everyday use as well as some gaming that I do and I find myself using the 18 macro keys on the left for daily functions and not only for gaming. I use them to launch apps, run tasks and start processes which would usually take some unnecessary clicking around to accomplish.

I LOVE IT.
Its the razer tarantula. I picked it up at circuit city going out of biz sale for like $60.
You get lots of extra macro keys. one set on the far right is really useful because you can tap them with your thumb without going off the mouse right your right hand. Having the volume down in the bottom right is also a very handy feature I never thought about placing it there. The mute it the farthest bottom right button so its easy to mute the action for phone calls and things like that.
I forgot to mention it comes with extra keys, key puller, etc. You can place accessories in the top slot. Like chat screens, battle lights (recommended!), etc.
I don't have any of these add-ons but i want them.

Looking for a new gaming keyboard, suggestions?
I'm looking for a new keyboard.
I had been using a Logitech G15 for years and my G15 was great but the cat tipped over a glass of water into it and ruined it, so I need a new one.
I would like one that is not huge, so it doesn't take up a ton of space. The G15 was a bit big.
It must have macro keys on it, any number is fine.
Good response on the keys is preferred as well, I do a lot of non-gaming related work on the keyboard, so it has to have good response.
Any suggestions?

You should check out the ZBoard. It's standard keyboard size, but you can buy "inserts" with which you can have special key layout inserts (i.e. standard buy buttons for Counterstrike, mapped macro keys/regularly used functions for MMOs, etc.). Basically you have your normal keyboard insert and then you have your gaming insert which has a totally customized layout to the type of game you are looking to play. Pretty handy.

I found another alternative to the ZBoard, produced by the same company:
http://www.ideazon.com/us/products/gamingpack.asp
Looks like an alternative that could provide standard buttons to use/map for what you need. It's a bit larger than the ZBoard though (which is what I was focusing on for you since you mentioned you thought the G15 was too big).

That's exactly why I stated "It's a bit larger than the ZBoard though." It is also something that was an after statement as an alternative should he not want to deal with the replacement inserts of the ZBoard.

I have a Logitech G15. I live the LCD screen and backlighting. The size of the G15 I do not know of another one that provides as much information to the user as teh G15. Opps I for got to suggest leaving off the wrist rest. That reduces the footprint of the keyboard.

This would not make a good gaming keyboard at all. It also does not have macro keys which I said I wanted.

Sorry , you didn't really specify a exact price range perhaps then I would be able to narrow down all the options.

Honestly I would recommend the Logitech G11 if you were to buy another keyboard. Although it is the same size as the G15 and having used both the G11 still feels smaller to me than the G15 while typing. It has 18 programmable macro buttons and 3 macro settings. This leaves you with an incredible 54 macro keys to program. I own the G11 and make use out of the macro keys all the time and the backlit keyboard really sets it apart from some of its competitors.
