The PCGamer/MaxPC server tends to attract decent, mature players. The admins are diligent about booting players who are griefing or acting like idiots. The server is located in San Jose, CA. It is not 24/7 Dustbowl, though. TheVille has a 24/7 Dustbowl server that is fun, too. There tends to be a fuller roster at TheVille server. PC Gamer/MaxPC server used to be full all the time but has dropped off in recent months.

Try http://www.halflife2.net/forums - You should be able to connect to their TF2 servers without amuch problem.
Now, TF2 is probably the best I've ever seen a game run with high pings, but when I'm on a server with a nice low ping there are many things I've noticed.
I can avoid explosives much better. On high ping servers, explosives have been known to hit me more than a foot away.
My hits register much more often. This is especially so for the Scout. On a high ping server, the scout is nigh on frustrating. With a nice low ping, I'm constantly killing people.
Well I suppose that's everything. However they've optimized the game to do it, movement is fantastic with any latency. It's really quite amazing.

What are some of the best servers to play Team Fortress 2 on?
I'm looking for a server with good teamwork, halfway decent players, and the ability to get a reserved slot. I like DiG servers, but my ping is not the greatest on them. Does anyone have any good experience with an exceptional server? 24/7 Dustbowl would be a plus as well :)

• not bad at all, not a fan of the 24 player maximum compared to 32 on DiG, but my ping is fantastic and the players there are professional. thanks!
