In Fallout 3, how do I find the bed and gain access to the home in Megaton?

In your initial visual walkthrough you have access to a house that needed a key. Where did you get it?? The only bed I could find was from Nova for 120 caps and for only one night

You have to disarm that big bomb, and then the sheriff comes and gives you a house in Megaton as a reward.
