I think because they're gainfully employed, and they have expanded one child at a time (mostly) so they don't need outside help for simple things like changing diapers. Matter of fact they originally had said no more than two kids.

And also because while they have so many kids, they have good results. Their oldest is married (or soon to be) and none of the kids have gotten in trouble with the law.

Octomom doesn't have a track record for her parenting skills, and she's expecting all kinds of outside help. And it's just her. It does make a big difference when you're trying to change a diaper and the tab rips off, and the new pack of diapers is all the way across the room--and there are seven other kids wailing for you. Just one more set of hands in this case can make a big difference!

And wouldn't you think all of Nadia's children deserve something better than a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house?

Deserve? No. Need? Yes. They need it, for sure. But the babies have done nothing to "deserve" anything, positive or negative.

Perhaps she should have done something to deserve a house, rather than just needing one.

From what I've read of what she's said in public, it sounds like the whole thing was very much attention-seeking on her part. Which is not a sound foundation for raising a family, particularly with the challenges she now has in place. Twins are really hard, let alone as many as she now has!

This taken from Wikipedia: "The children watch very little television and their internet usage is strictly monitored. The children are home-schooled using a mix of materials. Dating is not forbidden but the parents much rather prefer that their children go through courtship (which requires the young man to seek permission from the girl's father to begin the relationship, even if both parties are adults) however, the children are given the choice to decide for themselves. All meetings between the engaged couple include a chaperone, and they believe in abstaining from affection and intimacy, up to and including kissing, until marriage."

How much trouble with the law can you possibly get yourself into when you live a life like that?

There is a bit of a difference between having the kids naturally and knocking yourself up. No husband (not that it matters too much), but she basically bankrupted her own parents to have these kids. Nothing respectable by putting your parents in foreclosure.

She has no way to pay for these kids that she purposely had. With the current economy, people aren't exactly thrilled to have their tax dollars go to a woman that is popping out that many kids.
