Is it unnatural for a woman not to want to have children?

I don't want to have children. I like children and am good with them, but I have no desire to have them for my own. Some people warn me that I will regret it one day, but I don't think so. I'm not married, so that is not an issue.

I don't think so. In the past women had children because there was no birth control. With birth control and better career options, more and more women around the world are choosing to remain childless.

"European women age 18 to 34 were asked in [a] study to state their ideal number of children, 16.6 percent of those in Germany and 12.6 percent in Austria answered “none.”"

While instinctively many women desire to have children in order to propagate the human species, in the modern world there is no real biological imperative to automatically have children, therefore there is totally nothing wrong with not having, or not wanting to have children. In fact, I think it is extremely self-aware of you to be able to verbalize the fact that you don't want kids. A lot of women who don't want kids don't have the courage or awareness to say it, and I think it would probably a source of a lot of anxiety for some people. Ideally, since you don't want your own kids, you would take steps to ensure you don't have them. I think a women who doesn't want kids could be a good parent, but it would be a bit unfair to the child to have a parent who wasn't really passionate about having children of her own.
