Next Question
Do you mean led as in "lead?" Like eating paint chips? (http://www.askoxford.com/concise_oed/lead_2?view=uk)
To break her from the "habbit" I suggest to give her ice chips to chew on...
Try your best to keep her away from the lead and make sure you have her screened for lead poisoning, right away!!!
I think it means that her body is lacking iron. There is definately a few products you will surely find in the baby isle. Look for drinks with extra iron and/or soft chewable iron tablets. These are specifically made to replace the nutrients she is needing. (you must read the instructions and keep these away from her too :-), of course) It will let you know on the pacage, what age range they are for and how much you should give her.
Personal Suggestions:
To help her stop binging on non-food things like lead, due to iron, I preceive that giving her small bits of ice to crunch on will help her "mind" feel like it doesn't need it anymore. The reason I say this, is because I chewed on ice all day long while I was pregnant and my doctor had told me that it was due to anemia or "lack of iron" in my body.
Once she has the right balance, inside, she will still have the craving due the habit, with my "ice chewing theory," I believe this should be gone in no time.
I've had four kids of my own and they don't share that problem but fortunately their pediatrician and local non-profits force this info on parents. Due to cases like your "little miss independent" tend to have
