Palm Pre: Is it possible to keep your old plan, or can you ONLY get it with an "Everything" plan?

My Treo 700P account runs me $35 a month for 300 minutes, unlimited data, messaging, and Nights & Weekends starting at 7pm. The cheapest Sprint "everything" plan is the Everything Data plan for $69.99 that comes with 450 minutes, unlimited data, messaging, and Nights & Weekends staring at 7pm.

I don't really want to double my bill for just an extra 150 minutes that I wouldn't even use. So I'm wanting to know if anyone has been able to keep their old non-Everything plan with the new Pre?
Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Yes, according to Sprint site, you need an " Everything" plan for Pre to use all its features. There is a referral program that has $59.99 plan/500 minutes which is compatible with Pre and is called Everything Plus™ Referral Program. You still need to spend more but cheaper than the regular $69.99 plan you were referring to.

This plan includes:

Data: Web surfing, email, GPS Navigation, Sprint Music Premier, Sprint TV Premier,
Messages: Text, pictures and video
Talk: Unlimited mobile to mobile, night calling starting at 7 p.m. and weekends, domestic long distance and no roaming charges

If you know any Sprint employee, you need their email and the corp id to access this site and also check your upgrade eligibility unless you are going to get another line.

If you know that Sprint employee well enough to get the employee plan, you could get 1000 minutes or so for the same $35 with all those features, but you need to wait. Last time checked, Pre is not available for employee plans yet.

Here is the link that lists all that is included in this plan.

Current customers with the same device for 22 consecutive months with a $39.99 plan or higher might be eligible for an upgrade.

However, it seems that you need the (Simply Everything plan) at least to be able to use the pre.

I think cases depend, but I believe that if you have been a customer for a long time call and negotiate with them and they will be able to either upgrade your plan for less or keep you with your current plan. Good luck !

It appears that Sprint will only allow you to get the Palm Pre at the subsidized $199 price if you sign up for a new Everything ($69.99 and up) plan. If you want to buy the phone retail, then you can use it on your old plan but that will cost hundreds of dollars more.
