I have a Garmin nuvi 770 with lots of features and I use it for commuting every day. I have a long commute but obviously I know the way.
. However:
1. It's an mp3 player using SD cards, so I get much more choice and convenience than CD's.
2. It's a bluetooth hands free connection to the cell phone in my pocket.
3. I use various foreign language settings so it's giving me language lessons.
4. It warns me about traffic problems on the highway and helps get around them.
5. I like the maps showing where I am, and the predicted arrival time, which is amazingly accurate.
6. It reminds me to make turns if my mind wanders.

It's great! The only thing that was a wash out was the fm transmitter to the car radio, there is no empty frequency for it to use well.

I use it every work day.

We usually use GPS for driving the country side and also major cities. It also shows us to drive in the forest and discover unexpected wild animals during at night time though that was very scary drive I never forget! lol...

I use it to get lost in strange places.... and to find local restaurants when I'm traveling.

Just don't turn off your brain while you are following their directions, they may dump you in a lake....

I friend of mine uses his GPS for GEOCaching. Its fun, but can be time consuming. http://www.geocaching.com/

I like the speedometer function- If you are ever stopped for speeding, use it to prove to the cops how fast you were going.

If you break down you can give the towing company your exact location.

I have never used mine for hunting or fishing but I understand they are great
for Marking a fishing spot- if you've found a great fishing spot, use your GPS to record the location.
