Other than looking through your insurance portal, how do you find a good doctor ? Any good free review sites ?

I know of sites like ratemd etc, but they really do not have a good exhaustive list of doctors and the reviews are sketchy.
Tip for best answer: M$0.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I use HealthGrades: www.HealthGrades.com
Review and details of 20 Physicians (in the specialty you choose) in your area for $9.95

PhysicianReports.com is free... they have Doctor reviews by patients.

While it is not free, Angie's List now rates doctor's (http://docwhisperer.wordpress.com/2008/04/30/online-ratings-irk-doctors/). It is a peer/user review site with pretty high performance standards http://www.angieslist.com.

I would suggest that comprehensive listings are going to be hard to come by for free, because it would be very labor intensive to input and track all the doctors, where they practice and move around to, etc. But I've had good luck with Angie's List in this regard, no for being comprehensive, but for being in depth and providing good references for providers in my area.
