What time are the Oscars on?

What time do the Oscars start? What time are they on PST, ET?

hmmm, well according to the Mahalo page they start at 5pm PST which would make it 8pm EST on ABC

Just to doublecheck it went to TV Guide.com and sure enough they list the same time.

Of course pre-show coverage starts long before that.

If you're into that sort of thing, you can watch:

On ABC, the pre-show starts an hour before

On E! and TV Guide, the pre-show starts about two hours before.

Apparently, the pre-show may be less glam than in years past, due to low viewership. Some celebs may not walk the red carpet.
