In the introduction of the 2009 Academy Awards, Hugh Jackman makes light of the recession and highlights the sweeping changes at the ceremony this year.

Jackman comments:

"Due to cutbacks, the Acadamy said that they didn't have enough money for an opening number. Now, you know what, I'm going to do one anyway."

Then, with props that were apparently made in his garage he sings about the highlights of the upcoming show.

At timecode 3:14 in the video below, you can see the "Craigslist Dancers". This segway between "Milk" and "Batman" serves to highlight the low-key amateur appearance of the opening number. The Craigslist Dancers are a joke meant to represent amateur, inexpensive dancers that have been hired from the popular classified site Craigslist.org.

I marked your answer as helpful, Rob. There is no legit reason anyone could have for marking it otherwise. This is a situation where I think it should be looked into by the Mahalo staff to see who is maliciously marking things unhelpful.

I suspect it is a larger joke. They are really talking about the Craigslist Personal Ads - Men seeking Men as a source for 'Dancers' for the support of the skit on "Milk"
