Can you believe there are movies not nominated for "Best Picture" oscar, but had 8 other nominations?

The Dark Knight! The categories include Best Supporting Actor for Heath Ledger, Art Direction, Cinematography, Film Editing, Makeup (with Hellboy II: The Golden Army), Sound Editing (with Iron Man and Wanted), Sound Mixing (with Wanted), and Visual Effects (with Iron Man).

Another movie is "Dreamgirls"!

I did notice that and often wonder how that can happen. You would think with 8 nominations the movie must be pretty darn good!
