What are are some great things to eat with or make with rye bread?

I just picked up a gigantic loaf of rye bread from the farmer's market.  How should I use it

Rye bread is incredible with patty melts or reubens. Basically sauteed onions, cheese (healthy or otherwise), and your favorite meat or meat substitute work great on rye. But my favorite has to be a good patty melt.

I can never resist one... in fact we're going to a really fun restaurant tomorrow and I've been planning on ordering one all week. I guess I subconciously remembered that when I came across you question :)

I like to melt muenster cheese onto it. You can also make a deli sandwich with rye bread and put on your favorite deli, for example, I like turkey or pastrami. Sometimes, I will just toast it and spread some cream cheese on it.

If it's the type of rye with caraway seeds, it's excellent with sauerkraut, or with cold pickled herring.
