Hmmm... "great hotels" they aren't, nor "adventurous."

However, most of the hotels I see have decent ratings and are suitably priced.

The Comfort Suites Eugene is cheap-ish, around $151 a night, and it has great reviews. Particularly, it is "immaculate," has "comfortable beds," and "convenient access to the highway."

Personally, I think it looks like a prison and the rooms aren't exactly compelling, but it seems like a great place to get some rest and a decent location.

Strangely, the Holiday Inn (typically my last choice while traveling) is well reviewed and has a much more contemporary look than the Comfort Suites. Check out this room -

Again, really surprised about the Holiday Inn Express. Prices are cheaper than the Comfort Suites, at around $141 a night. I see similar high points in the reviews, as well as "good breakfast," "helpful desk staff," and specifically, "large rooms."

The Residence Inn also has decent reviews, but it is a bit more expensive at around $185, and the rooms are... well, I think they are pretty ugly. Mmm... gotta love that cockeyed 1996 model 27" TV. Avoid knocking this on your foot if you find yourself in a rush.

Lastly, you could try the Hilton. Hilton is pretty much universally a decent stay, and it will be like any other Hilton - decent interior, comfortable room, but a bit dated.

If it were me, I'd probably go for the Hilton at $163 (I like staying in higher floor rooms with a view) or, ugh, the Holiday Inn Express.
