How do you easily move your Outlook calendar to iCal?

I want to move from PC to Mac, and one of the major issues is moving my Outlook calendar so that it can be imported into iCal. How can one do that?

I would also love to be able to sync my iCal calendar with Google calendar ;)

1)
In outlook, go into file, press Save As, select a date range and press ok.

Since you're moving from a PC to a Mac, I'd select "whole calendar".

2)
Alternatively, this script will also convert your calendar entries:

3)
Google has a tool that will automatically sync your outlook calendar with the Google Calendar service. You can download it and view step-by-step instructions here:

Hope that this helps!

A friend of mine used outlook2ical found at the link below and he said it worked fine. I sync my home and work calendar using Google Calendar as the go between, I know Google Calendar works with iCal now so it should work for a migration. Good Luck!

Andru,

I had this exact same requirement recently, and here's what I did to make it happen:
  1. Install Google Calendar Sync (a) on your PC and sync your calendar with Google.
  2. On your shiny new Mac, go to (b) and install the set-up tool.
  3. Follow the instructions on page (b) and you're good to go!
Note: if you have an iPhone, you'll want to make sure that iCal is open when you go to sync your iPhone. Otherwise, my experience has been that the calendars won't sync up.
