I often use my Wacom in lieu of a mouse. If your coordination is used to the disconnect from working in photoshop you shouldn't have too much problem. Left click is the big button under your index finger & right can be programmed to be the small one. The scroll bar on the tablet will function the same as on your mouse. You might want to have a profile set up with a different tracking rate for controlling windows than you use in photoshop.
You can also increase your efficiency with the tablet by programming mouse gestures into programs that allow you to, like firefox https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/39 and for general windows http://www.tcbmi.com/strokeit/

Has anyone used a Wacom tablet to navigate your OS? If so, what
After years of mousing around, I have a lot of pain in my mouse hand. I've switched to the Evoluent Vertical Mouse, which has helped greatly, but some occasional tightness is still incurred.
Seeing as I do some Photoshop work, I'd thought about switching to a Wacom tablet completely. Can I use it effectively to navigate the OS or do you still have to use the Wacom mouse to do that?
The only other thing I can think of doing is waiting for Microsoft Surface.

Well, you CAN use the wacom stylus, but it won't be fun or easy. It is very frustrating to do something besides draw with the tool. Instead try stretches designed to alleviate pain from computer work. Try these: Computer Stretches
