One piece of footage I thought was interesting that Fox News absolutely did not show was when one older lady got up in the middle of one of those meetings and asked the simple question: "How many people here do not have health insurance at this time." Out of the entire room, only one person held up their hand, showing exactly who those people are that are so adamantly against healthcare reform.

Obviously, interests whose purse strings will be tightened, will rebel. And Rush L. will do anything for that crowd.
The American people stand to lose if civil debate is not achieved. We do not need more "nattering nabobs of negativism (to quote the infamous Spiro T. Agnew).
If Obama was elected on a populist vote, then the Democrats should have the guts to do this.

The problem has been the business lobby is so well organized in this country that it is hard to get anything done that does not favor big business anymore. And the talk radio and Fox news cry babies cannot stand the other side getting anything doe that will help them. Rush Limbaugh is all about misinformation, someone needs to expose some of the sicko practices he engages in on his out of the country trips. Healthcare is just the latest thing they will attack because for the GOP it is all game and it is about winning, they would destroy the country and everyone’s life if they could say they won. I really hope the Democrats finally develop a spine and fight back as ruthlessly as the GimOP has been fighting for decades, I would like to see the Dems getting Conservative Republicans kicked out of office over the most trivial matters to give them a taste of their own medicine, if they would have never passed social security they will still be fighting that one too. The truth is Somalia has a very limited government system and yet the conservatives cannot see fit to move to the country that most represents their ideals.

Perhaps there are more "mature and intelligent ways to get your point across", but I disagree that yelling and screaming doesn't accomplish anything. In fact, it's an excellent way to stop legislation from getting passed. And stopping legislation is an excellent way to make yourself politically powerful: it makes your opponents look ineffective, plus you get to accuse them of having promoted legislation so stupid that it couldn't pass.
That's especially true in this case, when the Democrats have wide majorities in both houses of Congress. If they can't get something passed it really will be to their discredit. But the resulting product will likely be incoherent as the result of having to get the approval of voters who have been terrified with falsehoods.
