Which seems a reasonable thing to do. After all chat show hosts never read the novel/books that guests are plugging so why would it be any different in this case.
Unfortunately, John Stewart did his homework. Not only that but he seemed far more familiar with the quoted area than she was. Even when he gave her several free shots ("show me where it says that") she failed to take them and tried to bluster her way out of it.
So there are only 2 possible conclusions that can be made.
1) She's completely wrong in her assertions that the US government plans to have senior citizens pressured into dying
or
2) The 'expert' who has been making this case, and putting it out to others to champion was so woefully unprepared for the interview that her competency to talk on the issue is questionable.
