If you like discovering new music, Amie Street is a great service to use. All songs on Amie St. start off really cheap (a few cents) or free, and the price only rises with popularity (which maxes out at $0.98). I've found so many great bands through this site. I highly recommend it.

Rhapsody is also another amazing service. With their "super pass feature" you get $10.00 worth of free downloads per month, and also has great reviews, and different levels of membership. (With a free 14 day trial of their unlimited service) (http://www.rhapsody.com)
As mentioned, http://www.emusic.com has monthly memberships as well, and is a per/download service.
http://www.legalsounds.com/ is a newer service, but does provide many worldwide options, and has a request button for requesting specific songs and bands.
Napster is an option, with a separate program and good selection of music as well (http://www.napster.com)

Besides iTunes and Amazon, what are some places where I can (legally) download music?
I'm looking specifically for a website or program that has songs available for download that wouldn't otherwise be downloadable on iTunes or Amazon without having to buy the whole album. Usually if the song is over seven minutes, you must buy the entire ten dollar album to get that one song. Is there a website where I could purchase a lengthy song without having to buy the entire album.
That's specifically what I'm looking for, but I'm also looking for any music-downloading website.

You could use either Rhapsody (http://www.rhapsody.com/home.html) or Napster (http://www.napster.com/index.html?darwin_ttl=1244250275&darwin=s0509A).

I really like the new Napster options. For $5 a month, you can now get 5 song downloads and unlimited on-demand streaming music. I find myself using the streaming service constantly, like an on-demand Pandora. You can try it free for 7 days via this link:

Zune is DRMed to death, but (even though it may be illegal) it can be removed fairly easily.
I didn't even pay attention to legal sounds when I found them that day, and where it is from.
