Google is a very interesting company, but people should not give them too much credit, as it's people like me who helped Google innovate. I believe Google will always bring innovative things to the WWW, yet I also believe that these concepts do not come from Google themselves. Some of the best Google ideas were invented by me. I know that is not what you want to hear, but I was never given credit for some of the best ideas that I told Google about years ago and today they have implemented years after I told them. Although, Google has not implemented some of my very best ideas. I have filed some patents on these inventions though, and some were just taken by me and implemented by Google. Anyhow, I have entered the Project 10 to the 100 contest: http://www.project10tothe100.com and hope to be in the finalist round, but if I am not, then Google will be missing out on some of the greatest ideas ever. Google should implement some of the ideas Mahalo has, and it's too bad they have not done so. Maybe Google will purchase Mahalo, as Google and Mahalo Answers would work well together, such as Google Checkout would be an example.
It's my belief that Google will move heavily towards cloud computing and similar concepts that move all of our information into the cloud in conjunction with some other principle concepts that work with Google. I also believe the best businesses and ideas were not built at or did they originate from Google.

I truly believe there is something missing from Google. I know that there is a long ways to go with Google, yet there are some great search engine concepts that have innovated in ways that Google will not innovate.
Keep an eye out for the Project 10 to the 100, and I see this being where Google goes to grab their next big ideas! This is just the beginning.

The introduction of Android is a great chance for them to do this. Now that the product is not just vaporware people will want functions and services that outdo Windows Mobile and the iPhone. Google is well on their way to offering a phone that can do this but if they continue to stretch the great minds they hire too thin many ideas may never see the light of day.

2. More cell companies deploying Android phones.
3. Improved resources for new developers.
Chrome:
1. The first Mac OS X beta.
2. Either the Google toolbar, or they will add some of its functionality into the browser.
3. Apple will start using some of the Chrome WebKit contributions into Safari.

Thanks, and yes many of those concepts that were predicted last year are where Google is headed, yet very few know what is next for Google... I was not kidding when I said Mahalo certainly could be bought outright by Google, but the Google founders always believed in crawling the web with robots instead of the human editing factor, yet they recently introduced Google Knol http://knol.google.com which is similar to Mahalo and Wikipedia. This is very interesting because someone at Google eventually thought they should go in this direction. The Google founders may not have saw this as their vision, yet they are doing some interesting work with the SearchWiki as well.

I actually think this might be the year that Google takes a step back and attempts to focus their business a little. With the current economic state of the US it is time for them to realize that they can't do everything and survive, they have to have a little more focus in an attempt to build upon what services they alread have.
