Have you used http://www.reputationdefender.com - are they worth using, or is it all hype? Positive or negative results for you?
I'm interested in the idea of reputation management, but I'm just not sure that it can really be done in the current internet environment. Have you used http://www.reputationdefender.com or another service? Did you try to do it yourself? Was it worthwhile? How did it work for you?

Hi Russ,
I have personally used Reputation Defender since 2006. I use their MyEdge service to help maintain my virtually image for both myself and my organization.
I was a victim of Internet Defamation and won a landmark case in Florida with a jury verdict of over $11M - a verdict that sent a loud message. I was literally destroyed online - the first 3 pages of my Google were filled with slime, lies, and twisted truths.
Although I was vindicated legally, my online presence was still tarnished badly. I had to close my office and now work from my home. I was introduced to Reputation Defender after the trial - and 3 months after that, I was alive virtually again! My business came back and most important, I felt like I was human again.
I am not paid by ReputationDefender, I do not receive any referral fees from them, and I don't sponsor them - I am simply a grateful client.
You can read more about my story in my recently released book "Google Bomb!" The Untold Story of How the $11.3M Verdict Changed the Way We Use the Internet. http://www.googlebombbook.com

This sounds like a huge scam. Some guy payed a decent amount of money for a Dr. Phil plug and is making bank on it. I doubt they can really do anything to help.
