I think MySpace was popular a few years ago, but I don't think they evolved well with the Internet, go to MySpace, click around and all you find is ugly glitter graphics, insanely designed profile pages and auto-playing music, frankly the site drives me insane, I never spend more then 1 second there if I hit it.

For a fella like myself who has used and watched the web evolve for well over 10 years now I am impressed to see how many of my non-internet friends that actually use Facebook, its the only online social network that I have ever seen with so many old-school pals. I only use facebook to connect with old friends and most of them seem to be on there.

Facebook is the answer I give

I prefer Facebook because I dont get the spam that I do with my Myspace accounts. Facebook seems to be more about real life networking opposed to the Myspace whoredom routine that people seem to fall into. Also I think Facebook is a lot better constructed from a tech standpoint.

Facebook is my choice. Myspace is full of spam and security holes and phishing and all kinds of things. I also thing Facebook has just the right amount of customization when it comes to the layout and design of profiles. Myspace allows too much customization which leads to horrible looking pages and broken layouts.

Just my opinion.

Frankly, I don't use either social network too much. I'm married and I'm really busy, so my time and need for socializing is greatly reduced--in fact I'm over socialized in the real world! I've got so many conferences, family events and friends I'm trying to keep up with that making new friends on Facebook and MySpace is just not realistic for me.

That being said, MySpace is more fun with their crazy designs and Facebook is easier to navigate with their really well-formatted pages. In some ways their strengths are opposites.

I'm definitely more of a Facebook person.

That having been said, I think a more interesting question these days is: Facebook, or LinkedIn? I'm finding I'm connecting to more people in more interesting ways for business on Facebook than LinkedIn recently.

Of course Facebook does not have nearly the rich search / jobs functionality that LinkedIn offers ... but that may not last forever.
