On the Canon Rebel XTi, is it possible to set it to take a picture at a given increment, like once every second?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The included software will allow you to do this but only when attached to a computer.

As far as I know you can't do it without a computer.

You can if you use an external timer remote control like this one.
