LSD myths are covered on the Mahalo page of the same name. All of these are myths: It is addictive, you can overdose, it can cause brain cell damage, and it causes madness. I believe there is a lot of fear about drugs in general based on the DARE program and there is a vested self interest of those in drug education and drug law enforcement to keep lying and spreading myths about outlawed substances that cause altered states of consciousness. Alcohol is fine, however.

This is a good start to an answer. I would encourage someone to actually address each of the issues/myths/statements about LSD and link to places where they have been studied.
