On average, how much is white gold worth on trade in? More details inside...
I have a ring, that is white gold, has some diamonds but I'm more curious how much the band is worth versus the diamonds. Anyone able to find an estimate on how much it's worth if traded in? Or does the price vary depending on location?
Thanks!

Yes, the price varies from country to country or depending on the location.
Internationnally, both pure diamond and gold are valuable assets and worthy substances to trade. Gold comes in different purities. 14 karate gold is approximately .585 or 58.5% pure. Most manufactures cheat on the purity level. You may need to test the purity level of the gold you are buying or selling. Therefore, you take the spot price of gold and multiply it by .585. This will give you the value of an ounce of troy 14k gold (1 troy ounce = 31.1034768 grams).
The diamond story is different as pure diamond is colorless. Small amounts of defects or impurities in diamond (about one per million of lattice atoms) color diamond. Boron impurity causes diamond Blue color. Nitrogen impurity causes diamond Yellow color, and so on. Colored diamonds contain impurities or structural defects that cause the coloration, while pure or nearly pure diamonds are transparent and colorless.
