I would choose Rio de Janeiro. It's a great city (especially the southern part) whose inhabitants have a very welcoming personality, but the poverty level has grown a lot. If it were selected for the 2016 Summer Olympics, the government would need to start investing more in making it the "City of Wonders" ("Cidade Maravilhosa" in Portuguese) that it used to be before the 1960s. It would also, economically, be great for Brazil, since the value of the Real (the Brazilian currency) would go up, prices would go down, and poverty could start receding as well.

As a Chicago resident, I say ANYBODY BUT CHICAGO. Our taxes are already outrageous in this city and we cannot afford to have Mayor Daly stick us taxpayers with even more ways to foot the costs for the Olympics.

My wife says the same thing about Tokyo (anywhere else if fine!)
My apartment looks out over a couple of the venues in Odaiba so if it comes here, I think it would be nice.
