Okay, I have a question: where can I find good new short stories? (Printed magazines & anthologies, as opposed to Web sites.)
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The "Best American" series is usually interesting. The 2008 anthology was edited by Salman Rushdie, and includes some great stories, including one by Tobias Wolff.
One interesting magazine is One Story. They publish only one short story per issue, and a new issue comes out every three weeks. If you're into literary fiction, you'll probably like the stories more often than not.
Zoetrope: All Story is another good magazine for short stories. They also do anthologies.
You can pick up all of the above at Barnes & Noble, Borders, or Amazon.
