I remember back in high school, when all the girls *ALWAYS* asked me for my phone number, I could barely walk down the hall without being interrupted...geez... anyway. To make the girls feel good about themselves I always provided a phone number...but always a fake one, they would probably call and get either the wrong person or just an operator the poor girls were probably too embarrassed to ask again.
Maybe your email friends are doing the same to you
And maybe my story came from an episode of Saved by the Bell and not real life *shrugs*

Put simply, email is like mail, its formal and some people don't write letters, they just enjoy getting their bills and newspapers. Some people are careless, others are blowing you off.

Otherwise... it could be a way to shake you off without insulting you to your face, anything from you annoyed them to your deodorant had worn off to they simply didn't want to be bothered. They could have forgotten that they recently changed to a new e-mail provider. They could use multiple e-mail addresses for different reasons, and jumbled them up.
I guess, really, there's just as many different possible reasons as there are people on this world. All you can do is ask them if you see them again.

Yes, I do have a personalized license plate spelling my last name. A number unmemorized is a brain cell saved.

Why do people give an incorrect email address out? Do they really not know how to spell their own email address?
I met two people tonight, and I asked them for their email to tell them I would email them, and they provided me with a misspelled email address. Is this a sign of immaturity, or a sign of not knowing how to spell your own email address?

Some people may not want to be bothered, or are feeling rushed. I find email communication to be weird in the way it is more formal and less to the point. I always feel compelled to write more than just what I need to know. I always provide people with my email address, but i hardly ever get an email from people. I think people just see email as a means to receiving information and not really a form of communication they want to be bothered with. Put simply, email is like mail, its formal and some people don't write letters, they just enjoy getting their bills and newspapers. Some people are careless, others are blowing you off.

Well... If they were in a rush, tired, etc. are there any letters or words that they could have jumbled up? - and _ in addresses are easy to confuse, if their address has one of those, try it with the other one? It could have been a simple mistake. Otherwise... it could be a way to shake you off without insulting you to your face, anything from you annoyed them to your deodorant had worn off to they simply didn't want to be bothered. This question is very obvious and simple. If you're in a bar, and you've been socializing, buying drinks, etc., it can get awkward for a drink recipient to give the drink back, as you ask for an email address. Since some women in this situation are mercenaries for those drinks and don't intend any refund, the proffer of a misspelled email address is their fast and simple way to finish off the drink, leave you with the naive impression that a future romantic liaison lies in your future, and carefully withdraw from your company. In such venues, buying drinks and getting nothing in return is accepted by drink buyers as a "cost of doing business" there. Moral of the story: Time to find a better place to meet women.

I agree with this answer.
You need to refine your pre-sales process. Changing the environment might help but you likely need a better setup all together.

This may be true, but the question is not always that obvious. It could a drink recipient or conversation recipient. I don't buy drinks for people, but I see what you are saying. This is a very bad way to get a drink. I've had a woman say "get me a drink, then I'll give you my email." People who do this are nice and friendly when you talk to them, but it could be considered rude.

This does not apply to just women, so it's not fair to make that assumption.

You may be asking a social question, in which case I have no comment. However, if you mean mistakes in email address in general, remember that many people are not, or are barely computer literate. Also, they have hard to remember email addresses and change ISP's frequently. Personally, I solved that problem by buying a domain which is my own name .com and my usual email addresses are my first name @ my full name .com for personal and for work my last name @ my full name .com . Yes, I do have a personalized license plate spelling my last name. A number unmemorized is a brain cell saved.

I wouldn't worry about, they could have just been typos, I don't think adults engage in that type of behavior, if they didn't want you to have their email, then they would have never offered it.
