Answered Question
What is your favorite oxymoron?
1) Turned up missing
2) Legal brief
Rules:
1) Give only one oxymoron per answer. (You must understand what an oxymoron is. If you're not sure, look it up online before answering the question.)
2) Don't leave any commentary (keep it simple for voting purposes).
3) Leave a nickel (or more) to raise the stakes.
4) Ability to follow #1, #2, and #3 will result in a "helpful" vote from me.
4) Failure to follow #1, #2, and/or #3 will result in an "unhelpful" vote from me, and the reason why. No second chances, so make your answer a good one.
5) The answer(s) of any person, who gets an "unhelpful" vote from me, can be used once again by any other person.
There are plenty of well-known oxymorons. Try to find the lesser known ones for the sake of originality.
The person who receives the most "helpful" votes, and who follows the rules the most closely, receives the tip.
Have fun,
Shin

The concept of adding tips to the asker's tip ("team tipping") is fairly new. Askers don't usually require that participants add tips, but it's much appreciated, and it ensures that the question will remain prominent. As the tip amount gets higher, then more people enjoy the challenge of trying to answer the question. I thought I'd require participants to leave tips so that, the higher the tip gets, the more people will accept the challenge. It makes it more fun that way.
Welcome to Mahalo and I wish you much success in future questions. Mahalo gets more interesting every day. I hope you'll stick around and become a valued member of the community.
Respectfully,
Shin

However, the rules were intended to be quite simple: provide an oxymoron and leave a tip. Nothing else was needed.
My reason for wanting to keep it simple is to make it easier to wade through many answers and to make voting easier. The people who answer first tend to get the most "helpful" votes, even though there are many answers that are worthy of such votes. However, by the time people wade through all of the videos and links, etc., few people have much energy to get to the end. I know I don't, especially when every answer is at least several inches long. I want everyone to have an equal chance to follow the instructions and earn the tip. I wanted to try something completely different by requiring a very simple answer.
Also, I find it very discouraging to spend a lot of time answering other peoples' questions according to the parameters, only to find that the parameters mean little. I want to impress upon people the importance of sticking to any guidelines set, so that people who pay attention to details are rewarded. I think this is an important concept for promoting the overall quality both of the answers given and of Mahalo in general.
I respect your right to disagree, but please be aware that future questions will be just as meticulous in execution, to give all participants' answers the same consideration, not just those at the top of the heap.
Respectfully,
Shin

Do you think I should just vote "helpful" on everybody, and leave the voting to the community?
