Did anyone else watch that video and think, "Where are his guards?" The guy got off a second shoe for gods sake. One maybe but TWO? Some poor secret service agent is not having a happy holidays.

I would suggest baby shoes. Less weight, but more accurate.
Actually 8 is the best shoe size for throwing. Anything larger is too heavy and you will sacrifice accuracy and speed. High heels and boots are exceptions to the above theory. I wouldn't throw a boot over size 7 (too heavy) or a high heel under size 9 (too light).
The size of the shoe should fit your feet. If you were wearing shoes too large or too small it would arouse suspicion. The style of the shoe should match your clothes for the same reason. Pick a solid, medium color shoe such as brown because it will photograph better. Under most circumstances, however, if it can be arranged it is better to throw a custard pie. This is more traditional in most of the world and is less dangerous to all concerned.
It all depends what shoe size you are wearing... it's easier to sneak in your weapon if it's on your feet.
