i have a number of customers who should have called me in the last month or so to get their test strips.
if they order today, they pay 20% or 0% (depending on their secondary insurance.)
if they order tomorrow, the phone will ring and ring as we're taking new years day off.
if they order after tomorrow, there's an almost certain chance that they'll get to pay 100% as that order will be applied to their 2009 deductible.
every single year, we lose customers when we explain the deductible to them. "I'VE BEEN WITH YOU FOR 9 YEARS, AND YOU'VE NEVER CHARGED ME ANYTHING! WHY NOW?"
so it's better to avoid that conversation by getting them a 3 month supply in december, then letting them meet their part b deductible somewhere else and taking their next order in march or april when they've met it.
... gotta get back to the phones!

yes, i'm working today. my customers all have medicare that pays 80% for the product they order from me some of them have a secondary insurance that pays their 20% co-pay and a few have a secondary that will also pay their annual deductible. ($135.00 each for 2008 and 2009.) i have a number of customers who should have called me in the last month or so to get their test strips.

I have to work today, and its not really a big deal to me. I work for myself, so I usually just put in as much goofoff as I please. However, I'm quite busy today and will not be goofing off as much as I typically prefer. The clothing industry is at its busiest in January and so will I be.

Yes. I am the help desk/webmaster/network engineer. No one doing any important work today, but if something breaks, I have to be here. I am doing end-of-year reports, updating the copyright notices and watching backups.

I requested the day off because I am out of state visiting family. However, a proposal is due and I will most likely work not just today, but tomorrow and Friday as well (which are "holidays"). I am bummed that the rest of my family is playing and I am stuck behind this computer all day.

Yes, I had to work today - just a half day though. But it is kind of ridiculous. They should just give us the day off because no one actually "works". What I've done today is write an article for eHow, and answer questions on Mahalo Answers. Not very productive ... for my employer anyway.
