It doesn't matter who he is, or if the police officer knew this - celebrities aren't above the law and as much as I love Bob Dylan's music, if anyone is looking through the window of a house late at night then they should be questioned and taken home if they're not doing anything illegal.

OPEN THREAD: Bob Dylan detained by New Jersey police
Apparently last month, singer Bob Dylan was walking the streets of New Jersey in the rain, when he was stopped by a young female police officer. He was seen looking into the window of a home for sale, prompting a neighbor to call the police. The officer did not recognize Dylan and escorted him back to his hotel and tour bus where his staff produced his passport for ID.
Was the officer justified or should she have known who he was? Did he receive special treatment? Should he have been stopped in the first place? Thoughts?

the property. What the real answer is that America has become a paranoid police state at the expense of our civil liberties. This is just one more example
of the forefeiture of freedom and abuse of government power we see on the news more and more,- from Cambridge MA to the Pacific shores.
Was Bob Dylan looking for the home where Bruce Springsteen wrote "Born to Run" in 1974 when he was detained by police near the Jersey shore last month?

Was Bob Dylan, left, looking for the former home of Bruce Springsteen, right, when he was stopped by a policewoman, center, in Long Branch, N.J. last month?

More PhotosThe 68-year-old music legend was picked up one Thursday last month by a 24-year-old cop who failed to recognize him as he walked the streets of Long Branch, N.J. in the pouring rain.
It may have been as simple as it appears: Dylan told police he was talking a walk and looking at a home for sale.
But the area where Dylan was picked up was just a couple blocks from the beachside bungalow where Bruce Springsteen wrote the material for his landmark 1975 album "Born to Run."
