The White House has released the official portrait of First Lady Michelle Obama. It was taken in the Blue Room of the White House by photographer Joyce N. Boghosian.

She is wearing a sleeveless black shift dress, which has become something of a signature style. The stunning black dress -- something reminiscent of what Jackie Kennedy Onassis would have donned when she was first lady -- was made by New York designer Michael Kors.
The elegant First Lady, who is also sporting a double-pearl necklace, smiles as she poses alongside flowers in the Blue Room of the White House.
Obama loves New York-based fashion designers. In fact, Kors is the latest in a string of Big Apple designers Obama has worn over the past few months, including Jason Wu and Narciso Rodriguez.
The official portraits of President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden were taken in January and made available for purchase from the Government Printing Office earlier this month.
