The law signed by President Obama addresse a serious injustice created by a short-sighted restriction in an old law. The law had prevented unfair pay discrimination but had a 6 month time limit on taking the employer to court. That was fine for some situations; but, it did not address long term discrimination discovered years after it had begun. Now the law covers cases like Lily Ledbetter's, in which she unknowingly suffered unfair wage discrimination for her 20 year career.
