-quote from Tommy Fassbender-

"Foods that are rich in complex carbohydrates are also good to eat for healthy hair. Complex carbohydrates are good for hair health because they help to assemble the building blocks of the hair. That's right, complex carbohydrates helps to build up protein in the hair follicle.

Vitamin B is also another essential vitamin for healthy hair. Vitamin B12 and folic acid provide hair follicles with energy so that they may grow strong and healthy. Also, foods that are rich in iron, sulfur, magnesium and zinc are good for hair health. A healthy hair is dependent on a number of vitamins and minerals, so try eating a diverse range of foods to help with your quest for good hair.

Antioxidant vitamins are also nutrients that are good for the hair. Foods rich in vitamin A and E help to keep the hair healthy and vibrant. Vitamin A is important for hair growth and follicle strength. To get more vitamin A in your diet try eating more fresh fruits and vegetables (especially bright colored fruits and green leafy vegetables) to get the phytonutrients from these foods. By eating just a bowl of mixed berries at breakfast or a healthy serving of spinach at meal time can really improve the look and feel of your hair in no time."

For healthy, shiney hair I rely on biotin as a supplement. Biotin is compromised of Folic Acid, B complex, panthothenic acid, B12 and vitamin C.

Biotin is also found in brewer's yeast, cooked egg yolks, meat, milk, poultry, saltwater fish, soybeans and whole grains.
