According to Wikipedia yes "Engen abruptly quit his role on The Young and the Restless in mid-May of 2009. Engen's departure was allegedly due to "the dark direction his character is taking" and an upcoming same-sex kiss involving the character of Rafe Torres, portrayed by Yani Gellman"
