As the article says, any shared activity would bring a couple together.

The article also says that it needs to be consensual, so if one partner isn't into spanking, there would be less of an effect in coupleship.

The article also is only talking about the stress hormone cortisol, there was no research on reaching orgasm... not that orgasm brings couples together.

Depends how it's used I suppose, it could be seen as one partner trying to be 'dominant' over the other by use of spanking to gain authority, in which case it could do the opposite of stated in the article.

However, I'm sure it can just be a bit of fun, and probably could bring a couple together!
