Now what on earth do I need a NAS drive for exactly? Any suggestions?

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Don't know if you do. I'd imagine in the future we'll all probably have them or at least use cloud computing for backup. NAS stands for network attached storage. So if you've ever had a need to access files on a network or media and you hate using LAN file sharing or security or reliability or you don't want to bog down a machine then you could use a NAS to share stuff. Or typically you use a NAS as backup for your main system and files. Of coarse media sharing and linking your entertainment to this begins to make a lot of sense especially with NAS like HomeServer solutions.
