Notwithstanding what subject/topic they write about, who do you think is the best blogger and why?

Tip for best answer: M$0.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I like Phil Greenspun. He is an MIT professor, photographer and aircraft pilot.

I like how he can take a very complex subject and dumb it down without losing accuracy. His comments on the current economic bailout plans are downright genius:

Lore Sjöberg's Alt Text. His stuff is absurd and hilarious. You can even reread his stuff and laugh again and again.

I would go for riverbend. It was written by a girl in her twenties living in Baghdad. She had written the blog from August 2003 and the last entry was on 22nd October 2007 when she reported that she and her family had fled to Syria. There is no news of her after that.

The blog is a first hand account of a woman who used to work as a computer programmar in Iraq. Through her eyes we see the lives and worries of a common middle class family as things become worse and worse as the war progresses.

I would recommend that you go to the very beginning of her archive and read through it. It is as good as any novel and the fact that it is true makes it more poignant.
