My kids just gave me this for Christmas. I'd tasted it in a shop in the mall a couple of days ago. When we went back yesterday doing giftwrapping to benefit charity, they disappeared for awhile then came back and were really secretive. They're just in elementary school, so I was amazed they both had earned the money to buy this for me, and that they picked so well:
http://preview.tinyurl.com/8u4ye7
"A lavishly aromatic blend of Sencha green tea with strawberry, raspberry, rhubarb, and red currants. By adding a fruity sweetness to the naturally good Sencha, this tea becomes exceptional. You'll enjoy every cup!"
The tea base is an amazing quality, with no leavings or castings to muddy the flavor. It looks just like the picture, with tiny little buds.
And the taste...well, I don't normally like fruit teas. But with this one, there are layers of flavor. It's a mix of sweet, tart, and round flavors, backed by the astringent but full qualities of the green tea itself. I drank it hot but I think it would be great iced.
Here's another I tasted and loved:
http://preview.tinyurl.com/6ned6p
"This delicious chai is made from Aspalathus linoaris, a South African plant that gives it a rich, red color. The red Rooibos is naturally caffeine-free and filled with vitamin C, minerals, and proteins. And combined with cinnamon, vanilla, ginger, and lemongrass, it makes a wonderful herbal tea."
To taste, it was chai, but very full and luscious in the mouth. Again, there were just layers of flavors that made me need to swirl it around in my mouth. This was characteristic of every single tea I sampled in the Teavana store. There was one other, a combination of Chai, Mate, and Rooibos teas. I think it must have been a test market, because it's not on their site. I liked it a lot, too, partly because I love the boost without jitteriness that Mate provides, and then the taste was just as unique as the rest of their teas.

if you are looking for a great black tea, my favorite is the assam melody. it makes a great iced tea and has a strong malty flavor that is perfect with a splash of milk

I get it from my grandparents, they send me some a couple times/year from a tea place in Durango CO. This appears to be the same.
The orange in it is understated, giving it a slight mellow sweetness, and the ginger and pepper are even more subtle. There's some clove that lingers on the pallete.
My favorite place to get tea online is Adagio Teas -
http://www.adagio.com/
I can send a $5 gift certificate to you, if they're still doing it now (note that it does benefit me a little bit too). Some of my favorites from there are:
Hojica - http://www.adagio.com/green/hojicha.html?SID=77766faa91f2eeada9a1259b3b4763f4
This is a roasted green tea. It has no caffiene in it, and doesn't taste anything like a typical green. It's relatively subtle, mild, and smoky. It's very nice to have before bed time.
They also have a very good jasmine tea:
http://www.adagio.com/oolong/jasmine_yin_hao.html?SID=77766faa91f2eeada9a1259b3b4763f4
This one isn't as subtle as the very expensive dragon pearls - there's a bit more jasmine flavor, and the tea itself is actually an oolong (most jasmines are green), and is a bit more full bodied than an average green (It's a light oolong, still, though). Avoid their low end Jasmine. It tastes overwhelmingly of jasmine petals. The expensive pearls are good, but only if you like something very subtle.
The Oolong #40 is amazing, but it's also very expensive. The cheaper ones aren't quite as good but are better values.
I'm not a big fan of their flavored black teas, but in general I'm not a fan of flavored black tea.
If you like iced tea, and want to try something that is delicious and medium bodied, the golden monkey is great. It's also very good hot, but it's probably the best iced tea tea that I've ever had.
They have a bunch of other interesting options, like a green tea with rice in it (genmai cha), some very delicate white teas (silver needle is very good, but has a very slight flavor), their gunpowder green tea is very good, and you can also mix them together at the store if you want to try your own blend.

Picking a favorite is difficult as they are each great on difficult occassions. The new Acai green tea is delicious and the Mango Ceylon makes great iced tea! I think the Cinnamon Plum is great around the holidays.
Each of the flavors comes in beautiful and sturdy tall cylindrical tins and you can also purchase just tea bags to refill these on their website.
http://www.republicoftea.com/templates/directory.asp?navID=11
My all time favorite was the limited edition passionfruit papaya with some pineapple. It had very subtle tropical flavor based on a great black tea! I like flavored teas but the flavored black varieties from many brands leave much to be desired. All of the flavors from Republic of Tea have wonderful natural flavor without being overwhelming.

The first time I had Mighty Leaf, it was their Chamomile Citrus blend. I was nonchalantly ordering something to warm me up at a coffee shop downtown. I was surprised when they gave me the mug with a silk pouch containing actual chamomile flowers and other ingredients floating in the hot water. It was delicious, and wonderful to see what I was drinking, even in a "downtown on the go" context.
I recently purchased my first box of Mighty Leaf at a store, after buying it in coffee/tea shops when ever I found it as an option for the last three years. I was surprised how pricey it was, but, after all, it is the freshest and most delicious packaged tea (and the silk pouch can't be cheap, right?)
They have lots of flavors, but the Chamomile Citrus is my personal favorite so far. Perfect for relaxing at the end of the holiday season!
(I'd also recommend Lemon Echinacea Throat Coat Tea for when you're fighting off a cold -- pretty yummy, especially with honey, and good for you. I'm a big fan of mint tea of all varieties, and you can't beat Trader Joe's for wonder-of-scent in packaging, but it doesn't have the flavor that smell makes you expect. I don't know if you can get it, but "FRONTIER Natural Products Co-Op" has a loose leave organic mint that makes MARVELOUS mint tea.)
Enjoy your search a new tea! Hoorah for tea drinkers!

I absolutely love teas and wonder what the best tea you have ever tasted is? Make us want to run out & try it!
My current favorites are Tea Forte's Dulce Vita collection http://www.teaforte.com/store/gourmet-tea/tea-collections/dolce-vita/
http://www.chocolatepink.com/images/uploads/Beverage/Dolce%20Vita%20Dessert%20Teas.jpg
and Stash's Licorice Spice http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/5100403PDKL._SL500_AA280_PIbundle-6,TopRight,0,0_AA280_SH20_.jpg
I do like real tea and herbal teas. Fruit flavored teas are great, but I tend to get tired of any that are too strong and/or sweet. I do love the classic teas of China & Japan.

• The link to teavana looked so delicious that I can't wait to try them out. And there is one not too far from where I live! Great job of persuading me in a very, very competitive field. I can't wait to try out the Mighty Leaf and Adagio teas, too. I'm in Tea Heaven :)

I am quite fond of Tazo's Passion Iced Tea. I think it's one of the most refreshing drinks out there. I usually get them at Starbucks, but anyway. And when I say refreshing, I mean completely thirst quenching. This drink is so satisfying on a hot summer's day, however, I recently tried the same Passion tea but hot, and it's just as great. Definitely try this drink. I love it! http://www.tazo.com/tazo.asp?init=

I particularly like the black flavored teas from Republic of Tea. Some of their limited edition flavors have been particularly good - unfortunately, they are no longer available for purchase. Some of the limited edition flavored black teas teas I have had from them include: Cranberry Blood Orange, and two blends that were similar to their original flavors but modified slightly in great ways. These were modifications on the Blackberry Sage as well as the Passionfruit Papaya to include some PIneapple. The latter two limited edition teas had unrelated names such as Zen Blend or Dragon something. I just wish I remembered. I've still stubbornly saved those canisters at work with one tea bag left :-) Picking a favorite is difficult as they are each great on difficult occassions. The new Acai green tea is delicious and the Mango Ceylon makes great iced tea! I think the Cinnamon Plum is great around the holidays.

They appear to have lots of different teas and accessories.

This is kind of a science question. Anyway, water is known as the universal solvent. It will dissolve small amounts of every substance on earth or elsewhere. That means, plastic, aluminum, etc. Some soda and beer cans are coated with plastic, so that it doesn't taste as bad. Then you get the plastic. There is lots of contraversy over weather popular sport bottle and home water bottles that contain polycarbonate are actually leached into the water. Water will dissolve small amounts of absolutely anything and everything, the question is how long will it take? Of course - most food and all drinks contain water. There is also now concern that ingesting aluminum through eating drinking and using deoderant is causing dementia. It is possible that we are repeating the fate of the Roman Empire. Only now, the problems occur when we're 70-90. Of course... Eating small amounts of silica (in glass and ceramics) not only doesn't taste bad, but is harmless.

In Malaysia, people loves and addicted to 'Teh Tarik' (tea mix with condensed milk), they serve teh tarik with 'roti canai' (prata bread) or 'nasi lemak' (coconut rice) as a breakfast or supper. Its delicious and the cheapest we can afford everyday. http://thestar.com.my/special/online/usjweb/usjteh.htm
