If you want a great multiplayer game, go with Super Smash Bros Brawl. The versus mode has near endless replayability, especially if you have 4 people.

Not to mention that the single-player mode is co-op.

But if you're looking for something strictly for yourself, try some of the following:
Metroid Prime 3 (FPS)
Super Mario Galaxy (Platformer)
Mario Kart Wii (Racing)
Zelda: Twilight Princess (Action-Adventure)
Resident Evil 4 (Survival Horror)
Boom Blox (puzzle)

Lots of good stuff.
Asker's rating:
I think I'll go with Mario Kart :)

I wouldn't consider Metroid Prime an FPS. It's more of a puzzler with FPS elements IMHO.

I think SSBB is ONLY good as a multiplayer. The single player is pretty lame. But you CAN play on-line which is nice....

SMG is a 3D platformer. VERY beautiful and VERY fun... if you like platformers.
RE4 is a 3rd person zombie shooter. The use of the Wiimote is excellent and the ambiance is really spooky.
WW is a mini-game extravaganza that's fun as a single player and REALLY fun as a group. All you need is a Wiimote and have LOTS of fun.

Mario Kart Wii, it's an awesome game! It might be good since you just got your license, but also be sure to realize that the game is different from real life driving. Enjoy the video!

I would agree with the above recommendations. I would also add No More Heroes to this list. It's a fun, quirky third party title.

Also remember that the Wii can play Gamecube games. There are several quality titles for that older system. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Beyond Good and Evil, Eternal Darkness, and several other titles spring to mind. You can probably pick these up at a rather low price.

Good luck finding Beyond Good and Evil and Eternal Darkness. If anyone finds these for anywhere below $20, I'll give you a nice tip and my eternal gratitude.
