It's a simple one-player game that's a little cutesy and not terribly challenging, but fun nonetheless.
It is a cartoony life simulation game. You play an adorable little cartoon person who has just moved into a small town full of animal residents. You must choose a house to move into, find a way to start making money (the Animal Crossing currency is called "bells"), and then you learn the trades of the game: Fishing, Bug Collecting, Fossil Digging, Flower Gardening, and Furniture Collecting.

The gimmick of the game is that it's all set in "real time". So in-game, it really is whatever date & time it is in real life - if you turn the game on at 7am, the sun's just coming out in game and the fishin's good! If you turn the game on at 9pm, it's dark outside and there are crickets out in town. During the winter months, snow is on the ground. During the spring, flowers are on the trees.
The game even celebrates holidays in real time!

I like it because it's a very relaxing, slow-paced game. I really love the ADDICTION of trying to collect all the fish, bugs, and furniture in the game (there are hundreds to check off), making my house look amazing, and...I just love fishing.
It's also a game that isn't meant to be blazed through or "won". So you can enjoy it for years and years (as I am sure to do).

(note that this game has been around for the GameCube and the DS. The Wii version is called "Animal Crossing: City Folk", and you don't need to have played the other versions to jump right into this one!)

What are your favorite games to play on the Wii?
I will be mostly playing single-player, so I want a game that is fun to play solo.
Try to describe what you like about the game as much as possible. Thanks!

there are a lot of cool tricks you can use, when you start to play don't forget to use the chip button. in some situations you can chip the ball right over the goalie into the net.

Right now I'm enjoying the "light gun" games. Ghost Squad was $15 at CostCo. I also have House of the Dead I & II. There are a few more on-rails/light-gun games coming out that I'm also looking forward to. Oh, and I got a Nyko Perfect Shot. Makes the experience... PERFECT!
