how to draw the hourglass on final boss(bellum)

On my DS I cant get Bellum, is something wrong?? How do you actually draw it?!

Basically, you just keep making a figure eight. What I found helpful was to try and find a safespot (one of the outer extensions where the stairs once were) and freeze time there.
