I am also a Nikon fan. Though I am currently using canon's A590IS, I am going to get a Nikon D40 very soon as my first DSLR. In my opinion Nikon's lenses are far more superior than any other camera lenses. Nikon's build quality is excellent, though one may find it not attractive as Canon's. I find Nikon's expression not only professional but also friendly.
