I don't think the NFL is in a position to take action based on somebody filing suit. Roethlisberger has so far denied any wrongdoing. Yes, it is a case of "he-said-she-said", but I don't think the NFL should be taking action over allegations alone.

That being said, many people are pointing to this being a setup based on the fact that the woman filed a civil suit instead of instigating a criminal investigation. Civil suits = damages (money).

However, it is important to remember that victims of sexual assault often do not file criminal charges because of the damage that can be done to their character, especially in cases involving high-profile celebrities and athletes. Therefore, it may be premature to judge the nature of this allegation based on the woman's choice of proceedings.

No. I think innocent until proven guilty applies even if you are a football player. If the player is guilty, then he shouldn't get preferential treatment, but the NFL shouldn't take any action yet.

From hearing all the guest appearances on the tonight show, letterman etc... Ben seems like a wonderful human being! In my opinion Ben did not rape that girl, there is no way that he could do something like that! I think that the person in question is after his money just like say Kobe Bryant for instance! Ben is very young and takes care of his family and helps out in the community! He is a philanthropist in many occassions and I just cant see that happening! For Ben to be dumb enough to throw away his career and his family is obsurd and I don't think that he would ever take that chance, he is too nice a person!
Thanks, Kevin

My own opinion of him based on all the things that he has done for the community and everything he has said on talk shows! It shows me that he is genuinely a nice guy and the money hungry woman should be under attack not Ben!
