Also, and this is only somewhat related: GM's sale to China is shaky at best right now. China's Commerce Ministry is resisting the deal for some reason or another. It's weird, because the would-be buyer is a private company, but the Chinese government must, apparently, approve the deal anyway.

We're talking about two different vehicles here. The Humvee is the military vehicle, while the Hummer is the civilian version. AM General, which is based in Indiana, is involved with both Hummer (civilian) and Humvee (military) vehicles. GM's also involved with the Hummer. However, GM's Hummer sale has diddly squat to do with the Humvee according to the South Bend Tribune.
