My opinion... but I think President Bush was also responsible for getting us through some of the DARKEST day's in our history.... we have never had anything the likes of 911 on our soil. I personally would like to see what is Presidency would have been like without 911. He spent most of his first term trying to get his appointees approved and working. No president has ever had to put up with the kind of stone walling that went on as he tried to get positions filled. I happen to personally think that he was not a horrible speaker... he gave one of the most moving speeches I have ever heard in the days, weeks and months after 911. Not to mention the fact that our press only told this country what they wanted us to know. I am still not convinced that there are not weapons of mass destruction in that desert. I have to tell you have seen pictures of things buried in that desert. A friend brought back pictures of full size fighter jets buried in the desert. And these jets were buried in the desert near the run way of an airport. A half a dozen fighter jets buried in the desert and the only reason that they were dug up... ( and I saw the pictures) was because someone came forward and told the military where to dig. Now I am of the opinion if they could bury full blown jets in the desert and we couldn't find them without being told where they were I am convinced that they could bury canister's of any number of weapons of mass destruction.... just my opinion. And as someone above said... I am not here to debate anything I have written here... just my opinion... and as I used to tell my x everyone has a right to their own opinion.... doesn't make one wrong or right... just makes them different.

George Bush could be the worst president we have ever had. Did he get us through the Darktimes? Well what president wouldn't of? In fact I think a compitent president would have done more than what Bush did when he found out what had happend. what did Bush do when he found out planes were striking the WTC? Thats right just keeped on trying to read. What else did he do? passed the patriot act: Further crushing my rights as an american. started a war in Iraq creating total chaos in the region. why not just focus on afghanistan? are we done in afghanistan? No because our efforts are split between Aghanistan and Iraq. what about katrina? where was the president when millions of people were suffering? oh having cake with McCain, The response of the federal goverment was Horrible who knows how many people died because of the poor response and i know he cant defend us against natural dissasters, but he could have at least speeded up the process by cutting through all the red tape. I cant believe people arent more furious about this seriously President Bush was on Vacation while People in the Astro dome ran out of water, food and hope.

Not everything is W's fault, but he and his administration did cause a lot of problems for this country. Those things will always be his fault. Hopefully, we'll see the impact of them lessen over time.

When enough time has passed that historians begin to analyze the period, they will see that everything really was Reagan's fault. However, Bush will still get a lot of discredit.

@albanian, interesting. I actually agree. But it's not a very popular or common theory. I think Reaganomics and Trickle Down have failed us horribly. And we keep going back to it. That's why Bush will still get his share of blame in history.

It never was all his fault.

The problem is, a lot of the mistakes he made had far-reaching consequences - ones that affected most Americans in very personal ways. He'll always be remembered for those mistakes. And most of us are STILL paying for them.

But with bad times comes a parade of scape goats. Since Bush can no longer make those kind of mistakes he'll be quickly and easily forgotten. And then we'll start flogging whichever president is in office while times are tough - Democrat or Republican.

Barack Obama took ownership of the afghan war so that becomes pretty soon. He will have to submit a budget for this fall so sometime next year that will shortly there after if he does not make any progress on the federal deficit that also becomes his problem.
When Reagan took office unemployment was 7.4% it peaked at 10.8% about 2 almost 3 years later and did not get down to the level it was when he took office until spring of 1984 so Barack Obama should get a couple of years until people really go after him, if things are not much better by reelection time then he does not have much excuses and by then he pretty much owns all the problems at the federal level.

All the new problems are not his fault, but existing problems from his administration are.

The Economy-Hes fault for the way it is, but right now its becoming Obamas for not fixing it.

The War on Terror- His fault how are you going to win a war againts Terror? Terror is a tactic not an opponent. Unfortunantly looks like we are stuck in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Whats not his fault

-Bailout yup amazing, but Bush was not the one to give billions to banks and Auto makers

-Global Unrest
Iran elections, North Korea Misssile testing, ect

When someone invents a time machine, goes back to 2000, and prevents Bush from ever getting elected, or even nominated in the first place. Eight years of consistently retarded decision-making deserves decades of blame.
